This Chess Board was completed in October 2007.


The Chess Board can be used for playing chess or checkers. 


The board is made with alternating lenghts of Maple and Purpleheart.  This gives a nice contrast for the squares.  The entire board is edged with Purpleheart, and is approximately 12 3/4 inches square.


The current picture shows the board without a finish.  This board will feature a water based ureathane finish, to avoid the yellowing of an oil-based ureathane finish.  This will allow the board to maintain its color over the years.


A Chess Board makes a great gift for the next chess champion in the house.
