This Painter's Box was completed on August 6 2006.
The Painter's Box is based on a design from Wolf Moehrle in the May 2006 edition of the Woodcraft Magazine. Our design utilizes Red Oak and Purple Heart for a nice colorful contrast. The box was left natural color, and finished with several coats of Shellac to add a nice warm look.
The Painter's Box has storage room for various paints and brushes, along with slots in the top lid to store two 11 X 14 canvases without their touching. When not storing paintings, the lid will double as an easel, with magnets to support the painting and a brace to hold the lid open. The base also includes has a small shelf included to hold your cleaning solution while you paint.
This box was delivered to a local artist who is now using it for storing their art supplies.
