This Potting Table was completed on August 19 2007.


This Potting Table was built to provide the customer with an outdoor table for their bar-b-que area.  Our customer does some entertaining in their back yard, and wanted a nice looking but rugged table to hold their party items.  Instead of using it for planting, this table will be used for holding food and dishes during the customer's outdoor parties. 

The Potting Table is made of Redwood, with large legs for the base and wide flat planks for the top and shelves.  The back is left open on the bottom to provide better visibility and ease of use.  The top includes a shelve for small items, such as salt and pepper shakers. 

The finish is three coats of spar varnish, a polyurethane varnish made for outdoor use.  While redwood is rot resistant, the varnish provides extra protection against the elements.  It also brings out the natural redwood color and prevents it from graying as it ages.

With a the top counter and two shelves, this table has lots of room for storage.  While our customer is using it as an outdoor table, it can also be used as a place to pot your plants.  Either way, this table nicely compliments any outdoor setting.
